Overview
Home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, Vancouver is Canada’s 3rd largest City and British Columbia’s largest metropolis with a population of 600,000 (est). Vancouver is at the center of the Greater Vancouver Regional District of more than 2 million people. Downtown Vancouver is a 15 by 10 (City) block area with a handful of established, new and developing Micro-Markets some of which include; Yaletown, Financial district, International Village & Chinatown. Now named after British naval captain George Vancouver who explored the area in 1792, the city developed as a sawmill settlement originally called Granville in the 1870s. Vancouver is a relatively young city, incorporated in 1886.
Vancouver is recognized as one of the world’s most livable/sustainable cities and downtown living offers a vibrant, urban lifestyle.
